Vikinglotto 6/48

About the game

About Vikinglotto 6/48

Vikinglotto was created by Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, and its first draw took place on 17 March 1993. Estonia (2000), Latvia and Lithuania (2011), Slovenia (2017) and Belgium (2020) joined later, so it is now played in ten countries. The draw takes place on Wednesday, on a mechanical machine, at Norsk Tipping in Hamar, Norway.

Players pick 6 numbers from 48 and a Viking number from 5. The Viking number was introduced in May 2017 with values from 1 to 8, and since June 2021 it is drawn from 1 to 5. The first two prize tiers are shared by all countries. The others are national, so their number differs from country to country. The jackpot starts at €3 million and is capped at €25 million. Norway's largest win, 341 million kroner, went to a single ticket from Oslo in November 2017.

The Lottevo archive holds 819 Vikinglotto 6/48 draws, from 23 February 2011 to 28 October 2026.

Since 24 May 2017, when the current format began, the most frequently drawn number is 32 (77 times), and the least frequent is 6 (47 times). Each draw is independent: past frequencies do not change the odds of the next one.
