About Lotto 6/49

Lotto is Poland's oldest lottery. Its first draw, organised by Totalizator Sportowy, took place on 27 January 1957. The game was first called Toto-Lotek, then Duży Lotek from 1975 and Lotto from 2009. In the early years draws were held on two Sundays a month, and the drum was turned by hand. The first televised draw, using a mechanical machine, was broadcast on 11 March 1973.

Today players pick 6 numbers from 49, and draws take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 22:00. There are four prize tiers, for 6, 5, 4 and 3 matches. When nobody matches all six, the jackpot pool rolls over to the next draw. On 18 August 2026 the rules changed for the first time in 17 years. The guaranteed jackpot pool rose from 2 to 3 million złoty, and 3 matches now pay at least 35 złoty.

Lotto Plus is a separate draw held right after Lotto, using the same numbers on the ticket, with fixed prizes. The game's record win is 36,726,210.20 złoty, won on 16 March 2017 by a ticket from Skrzyszów.

The Lottevo archive holds 7,425 Lotto 6/49 draws, from 27 January 1957 to 31 October 2026.

Over the whole archive, the most frequently drawn number is 17 (982 times), and the least frequent is 48 (826 times). Each draw is independent: past frequencies do not change the odds of the next one.
