About Lotto 6/49

Lotto 6aus49 is run by the 16 state lottery companies of Germany, joined in the Deutscher Lotto- und Totoblock. It has been drawn since 1955. Draws take place on Wednesday at 18:25 and Saturday at 19:25, streamed live from the LOTTO studio in Saarbrücken. They have not been shown on television since July 2013.

Players pick 6 numbers from 49, and the Superzahl is the last digit of the ticket number, from 0 to 9. There are nine prize classes. The jackpot needs all six numbers plus the Superzahl, a 1 in 139,838,160 chance. Half of all stakes go to prizes, all pari-mutuel except the ninth class (2 numbers plus the Superzahl), which pays a fixed €6. Spiel 77 and Super 6 are add-on games played on the ticket number.

Since 1 November 2023 the jackpot has been capped at €50 million, and there is no longer a forced payout. Once it reaches the cap it stays there until someone wins it, and the money above the cap goes into the next jackpot round. On 15 August 2026 a ticket from Thuringia won the €50 million after 41 draws without a winner, 24 of them at the cap. It is the largest win in the game's history.

The Lottevo archive holds 3,696 Lotto 6/49 draws, from 7 December 1991 to 31 October 2026.

Over the whole archive, the most frequently drawn number is 6 (520 times), and the least frequent is 21 (372 times). Each draw is independent: past frequencies do not change the odds of the next one.
